Paper Coffee Cups
|
| Paper cups were developed by Hugh Moore in 1900 to meet a sanitary need. Prior to the introduction of paper cups, there were no drinking fountains. Instead, public drinking dippers in water barrels were widely used by thirsty travelers. This practice was unsanitary. Moore wanted to make spring water available and he wanted a way for people to drink it which would be germ free. These paper cups designed by Moore seemed clumsy at first, but a drink of spring water from a clean paper cup was so inviting that thousands tried it. As the use of paper cups increased, Moore succeeded in having them placed in railroad cars. With the name changed to Dixie Cup, Moore’s sanitary paper cups became standard items on trains and in soda fountains. Paper coffee cups are an excellent way to offer coffee to your employees or your customers. These plastic-lined paper coffee cups preserve true coffee taste, and provide heat retention, while resisting moisture penetration. We stock the 7, 8.25, and 12 oz. paper cups. |
